ACL’s Christopher Stewart-Smith discusses three fundamental things to consider before embarking on a successful continuous monitoring program in this month’s AuditNet Newsletter. Here is an excerpt of his article.
“Amazing as it sounds, I speak to many audit departments who want to explore continuous monitoring but do not know what their organization’s risks are. What are your goals? In which areas? If you want to start a continuous monitoring program, do you know what you want to monitor? If the answer is ‘yes’ then the next two steps are made that much easier. If the answer is ‘no’, then hold off on anything else until you know what parts of the business you want to monitor and engage in an initial risk assessment.”
