UPC Ireland wins 2008 ACL Impact Award for performance excellence
VANCOUVER, CANADA (Apr. 17, 2008) – ACL Services Ltd. is pleased to announce that UPC Ireland, the largest pay TV operator in Ireland, is the Grand Prize recipient of the 2008 ACL Impact Award.
ACL is the leading global provider of Audit Analytics technology to financial executives, compliance professionals, and auditors. Each year, ACL recognizes individuals and organizations that use ACL technology to drive outstanding business value and achieve performance excellence.
As a result of merging ntl Ireland and Chorus into one company under UPC Ireland, UPC needed to develop a system to reconcile billing, analyze multiple data sources, and embed business logic into applications. UPC’s Revenue Assurance team already used ACL technology and wanted to expand the use of the product to support the merger. The result was a series of applications of ACL Audit Analytics technology. One such application – RACER – automates the entire reconciliation process and is able to load data while the system is not being used. RACER allows its client to identify errors before they impact customers.
Receiving the ACL Impact Award on behalf of the company, Mr. Glen Winn, Manager of Revenue Assurance, Fraud and Risk for UPC Ireland said: “I’m very happy that our team has been recognized for our outstanding results using ACL technology. These applications are critical and have demonstrated that it is possible to develop very cost-effective revenue assurance solution using ACL as the underlying platform.”
Impact Award entrants included internal, external, operation and IT auditors, finance managers, as well as ACL users responsible for fraud prevention and compliance at their organizations from around the world. This year’s regional winners are:
ASIA: Mario Nazareth, Senior Vice-President - Corporate Management Services & Group Chief Internal Auditor, Mahindra & Mahindra Limited (India)
EMEA: Matty Pleumeekers, Senior Advisor - Internal Control, Essent Trading (The Netherlands)
LAC: Reinaldo Cilurzo, Internal Audit Director, BOVESPA (Brazil)
NA: Shane Shultz, CAAT Applications Leader, Union Bank of California (USA)
