AX
Core is the hub of ACL’s revolutionary business assurance platform. It stores and manages all audit working papers, regardless of file type. Leveraging server security and speed, AX Core provides powerful analytic processing capabilities and the ability to easily schedule and automate analysis in a secure environment.
Choose from two user interfaces
ACL AuditExchange 2.0 offers functionality for both technical and non-technical users. Depending on what you want to do, you can choose to interact with AX Core using one of two user interfaces.
AX
GatewayPro for technical users
Intended for a specialized ACL user with ACL Desktop experience, AX GatewayPro allows users to create audit engagements within AX Core and then manage and import audit content. This includes importing data, analytics and results as well as managing user access rights to this content. To support continuous auditing, analysis can be automated through AX GatewayPro. And analytics developed in ACL Desktop can be imported in AX Core using AX GatewayPro.
AX
Gateway for non technical users
Analytics are now more accessible than ever thanks to AX Gateway, which is designed for users with no ACL Desktop experience. A web-based application, AX Gateway allows anyone on the team to easily view and interact with all forms of audit content stored in the AX
Core. Users can easily perform common analysis tasks such as group, sort and filter and they can run analytics stored in AX Core by technical specialists. Documentation in any file format is easily imported into AX Core to provide support and context for audit findings.
Centralized engagement & content management
Imagine – all working papers, audit programs, analytic elements, results and data required for a specific audit engagement in one central, secure repository. AX
Core is a virtual room where all relevant audit content can be stored and accessed by only those working on or overseeing a particular engagement.
Add-ins for Microsoft Office and unique URLs
Thanks to built-in add-ins for Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint, users can open files stored in AX
Core, edit them, and resave them in the repository all from within each Microsoft application. As each item in the repository has a unique URL, users can easily reference any files stored in the repository from the Microsoft application. URLs can also be embedded in audit reports for future reference.
Easily configure analytics for re-use
Audit team members can leverage analytics created by others and stored in AX
Core. To re-use an analytic, they can simply adjust inputs such as data tables, date ranges and results requirements through an intuitive wizard, then simply run them with the click of the mouse.
Automating analytics has never been easier!
The new built-in AX
Core scheduler allows users to easily schedule an analytic on the server to run at predefined intervals and produce results that can be easily reviewed by the entire audit team. Users can manage the frequency and timing of each analytic.
Fast server-side analytic processing
Rather than moving a mountain of data to a user’s laptop or desktop, AX
Core enables analysis on server hardware, dramatically improving processing times and reducing data security concerns.
Direct database interface
AX
Core provides direct, secure, read-only access to distributed instances of Oracle, DB2, and SQL server databases – preserving data integrity and respecting access privileges and rights. Through an easy-to-use Data Definition Wizard, you select the database tables, fields, and records needed for analysis. AX Core automatically creates a user-defined view of the data. You can use Condition, Where, and Order clauses to access only the data you need. SQL clauses allow you to join tables based on conditions you specify, ensuring the most efficient implementation of your requests.
